Pakistan has set an ambitious overseas employment target for 2026, announcing that 800,000 Pakistani workers will get visas for jobs abroad. The plan focuses on Asia and Europe, including Korea, Japan and multiple European countries, as part of a broader Visa for Pakistani workforce expansion strategy.
The announcement was made by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain. He said the move responds to rising international demand for skilled and semi-skilled Pakistani workers, especially in aging economies and labor short markets. The target is higher than last year’s 740,000, showing growing confidence in Pakistan’s export of working class individuals.
Visa for Pakistani Workers: New Markets and Policy Changes
According to the reports, Korea visa for Pakistan and Japan visa for Pakistan programs are being strengthened through joint training initiatives. These include technical and soft-skills programs designed to meet employer standards.
Officials shared that Pakistani workers in Korea remit an average of $1,800 per month, underlining the economic value of skilled migration.
Europe is also a major destination. The government expects increased hiring through Italy Decreto Flussi 2026 quota for Pakistan and selected Schengen visas through multiple employment channels. Authorities say structured recruitment will help curb illegal migration and protect workers rights.
A key reform directly affects women. The minimum age for women seeking overseas employment has been reduced from 35 to 25. Officials believe this will significantly expand access to global job markets for Pakistani women.
The government says further reforms are underway to ensure safe, organized and dignified overseas employment. For workers and families across Pakistan, the overseas employment plan could mean higher incomes, stronger remittances and broader economic stability in 2026.
