Visa free entry to Armenia is now open for Indians and Pakistanis living in GCC countries under a new temporary exemption approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The policy runs until July 1 2026. Eligible travelers can stay up to 180 days within one year without a visa.
The move covers nationals of 113 countries who hold valid residence permits from the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, the United States, EU member states or Schengen countries.
Visa Free Entry to Armenia Rules for GCC Residents
Indian and Pakistani passport holders qualify if they hold a GCC residence permit valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Republic of Armenia. The permit must be shown as a physical card or passport sticker.
Border officers will check that the document shows the traveler’s name, nationality, date of birth and expiry date in Latin script under the Gregorian calendar format.
The visa free entry to Armenia allows a stay of up to 180 days in a 12 month period. The exemption is temporary and subject to review after July 2026.
For Indian and Pakistani expats across Dubai, Riyadh and Muscat, the decision reduces travel barriers and may increase short term tourism and business visits to Yerevan.
This update is significant for South Asian communities in the Gulf tracking fast changing entry rules.
Forward Look
Officials in Yerevan are expected to monitor entry numbers before deciding whether the visa free window will extend beyond July 2026.
