Updated: 03rd Feb, 2026 – Today Italy has reconfirmed approved Italy Work Permit quota that will allow 10,500 Pakistani workers to secure legal jobs over the next three years. The decision comes under the new Decreto Flussi program.
It is one of the largest labor quotas offered by any European country for Pakistan. Officials say it aims to support Italy’s labour needs while giving Pakistanis a safe and legal way to work in Europe.
Italy Work Permit Quota Creates New Hope for Pakistani Workers
Under the approved plan, 3,500 workers will be allowed to travel to Italy every year (2026, 2027, 2028). Out of these, 1,500 jobs will be seasonal and 2,000 will be non seasonal jobs. The Italy Work Permit Quota for Pakistani workers covers key sectors such as agriculture, hospitality and ship breaking.
Authorities describe this as a rare and important opportunity at a time when more Pakistanis are moving abroad due to low wages, rising costs and limited job options at home.
Government data shows nearly 2.9 million Pakistanis have moved overseas in the past three years, with more than one million leaving in a single year.
The new Italy Work Permit Decreto Flussi quota is expected to help reduce illegal migration by offering a clear and legal route to Europe. It also strengthens economic ties and is likely to boost remittances, which are vital for many families in Pakistan.
